Louisville ran away from the Florida State Seminoles with one of its most complete games this season.
Quentin Snider scored 20 points, Damion Lee added 14, and the Cardinals dominated Florida State in an 84-65 victory last night. The lead was 29 points before the Seminoles scored the final 10 points. U of L was never challenged past the opening minutes in winning its second straight ACC game.
- Louisville (15-3, 4-1 ACC) shot 48 percent and out-rebounded Florida State 44-36. Pitino was ecstatic over the Cards' 57 touches in the paint, a team record.
- Chinanu Onuaku had 14 rebounds and 11 points for his fifth straight double-double, all coming in league play.
- Freshman guard Donovan Mitchell chipped in 13 points for the Louisville, including a nasty one-handed put-back dunk in the first half that charged the Yum Center crowd of 21,349. Leading 22-15 at that point, Louisville never looked back in building a lead that reached 32.
- Mitchell was behind the 3-point line when Lee launched a 3 from the left side. He sprinted toward the basket in hopes of getting the rebound but ended up making one of the season's most spectacular slam dunks as he snatched the miss with one hand and put it back through in one motion.
- "I've been waiting for that for a long, long time," the 6-foot-3 Mitchell said. "Once you have a dunk like that, it elevates your play."
- Snider made 8 of 12 from the field including 3 of 4 3-pointers to finish a point off his career high (21) achieved two weeks ago against NC State.
- Trey Lewis entered the game needing nine points to reach 1,300 for his career but finished with six along with five assists and three rebounds.
